A Prayer for President Barack Obama

Together with all the people of our nation and the concerned citizens of our world, we pray for the new President of the United States, Barack Obama. Many other people are praying for him right now, and we join our voices with them.

We ask God that Barack Obama lead our country with a right mind, making responsible decisions and continuing in his honest and straightforward leadership.

For him and his staff and all the people and nations he has dealings with, God, please bless them with integrity, so that they can be honest about their intentions and their needs, and so that they can come to agreements with one another that are grounded in truth.

We pray especially that President Obama will make peaceful decisions for us, since his decisions will affect many people.

Furthermore, we pray that no harm comes to him or his family or friends, and that Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, and Sasha and Malia have a fun, safe, fulfilling, amazing, life-changing experience in the White House.

We wrote this prayer the Sunday after President Obama's inauguration.  In Children's Meeting, we studied I Timothy 2:1-2, where Paul writes to Timothy and other believers:

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in high positions, so that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and dignity.

My Summer Vacation By Mylie Turney

One of my favorite things this summer was going to the Airshow with my Dad, Dustin, and Josh. We saw some other family members there, too. The Blue Angels were cool and they did flips in the sky. They were really loud. Another favorite time this summer was when Grandma Toby came to visit us for ten days. We went camping with grandma when she was here. It was fun.

The Movies By Benno Foster

One of my favorite things this summer was watching the Forbidden Kingdom starring Jet Li and Jackie Chan. We also got to go see Iron Man.

Summer By Hanna Mahaffy

This summer, I went to school. Our old school was closing so our mom started teaching for the summer. We also went to see the new Star Wars movie. I also went to a water park, which was really fun!

My Summer By Kamila Mahaffy

One of my favorite things this summer was going to Seattle with my dad. While we were there we went to a candy shop where they made all of their candy. It was great to spend some time with my dad.

Music Camp By Anna Lee Foster

Music has always inspired me so this summer I went to a music camp at WSU. There were pianists, Stand up bassists, cellists, violists, and violinists. We had a variety of classes there such as orchestra, chamber groups, technique class, and fiddling or jazz. We also had practice classes in different practice rooms. At the end of the week there was a concert, which went really well. When I came home, my techniques had improved and I also had a lot of friends.
