Holding in the Light

Sing O heavens, and rejoice O earth, and break forth into singing, O mountains; for God has comforted his people, and has mercy upon his afflicted. Geo. Fox
Intercession should be a daily practice in our lives....It is not necessary to be in perfect health ourselves inorder to pray effectively; nor should we wait 'til we feel like it. The most powerful intercesssors are those who make it a regular habit. It is helpful to think that God is waiting for us to offer ourselves to him in the ministry of healing...thus we shall come to know what it is to share in the fellowship of the
Spirit, and become 'workers together with God'."
Frederick Tritton, London Yearly Meeting.

Safety for Judy and Johann
Those of our Meeting's Families serving in the Military.
Those in our care who are traveling.
We pray for families and individuals whose lives are being upset by economic dislocation, ecological catastrophy, domestic injustice and the inconsiderate behavior of others. We pray for the coming sessions of Northwest Yearly Meeting and its ministries. We pray that as creatures we are able to respect and hold in awe our sister nature.
We pray for our Meeting as we seek God's will in areas of our life together.
We pray for the elected servant leaders of our State and our Nation as they struggle to resolve conflicts between the demands of personally held economic philosophy and human need.

We pray for those of our meeting who are frustrated in employment related matters, family concerns and issues of health. And for those of our larger community who now must deal with drastic reductions in medical services and reduced household income for rent and utilities due to the loss of State funding.

We also carry on our hearts our nation's leaders and the leaders of other nations that they may seek just and non-violent ways for the resolution of conflict, and for those in war torn countries who personally and corporately endure war the consequences of war and for the men and women in the uniformed services who are in harms way...

"Lord, enable us to surrender our defended fortresses..."
