Crop Walk

Take a bite out of hunger in Spokane and globally!

You can make a difference in our community and the world by raising money for hunger programs, self-help projects, disaster-relief and refugee resettlement.

Join CROP Hunger Walk, an annual 10k walk-a-thon along Centennial Trail. Held at the end of April, the Walk begins at south side of Martin Centre at Gonzaga University with Noon Registration and entertainment (including activities for children).

Greater Spokane’s 2006 Hunger Walk raised $30,084! The second highest amount Spokane has ever raised since the Walk began in 1979. Since its inception Spokane has raised $500,000 through the annual CROP Hunger Walk. Of the funds raised in the 2006 hunger walk, 25% went to local organizations: Second Harvest Food Bank, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels and Mid-City Concerns Meals on Wheels. 75% of the donations went to international relief programs designated by the donors.

Each year Ron Fritsch acts as the coordinator for Spokane Friends. We have been a part of Crop Walk for many years. We have walkers who get others to sponsor them as well as people who give money to the walkers.
