Update to Caritas Outreach Ministries

Dear Caritas Friends,

On behalf of the families we serve, Caritas Outreach Ministries extends a huge THANK YOU for your generosity over the summer months. Your donations of food, money and time, and your participation in our Back to School Project have been a blessing to many.

Thanks to financial donations, we were able to answer the increase in calls for help with water and Avista bills the past few months. And because of your help, nearly 50 children started the new school year with a smile on their face and new backpacks full of supplies on their backs! God bless you for your kindness!

Please share this list of our current needs with your congregation:

Canned chicken or ham; stew; syrup; pancake mix; canned tomato products; jam/jelly; antibiotic cream; can openers; nail clippers.

God bless you for your continuing concern for our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Caritas Outreach Ministries Mission Statement
Caritas Outreach Ministries is an ecumenical, non-profit, Christian outreach in partnership with area churches, that seeks to demonstrate Christ's love to our Northwest Spokane neighbors in need by providing basic essentials. We covenant to serve clients without prejudice or discrimination and to preserve their dignity.
Caritas Outreach Ministries is sponsored be a coalition of Northwest Spokane churches. It is designed specifically to reach out to individuals and families in the local church neighborhood. Caritas addresses needs that are often unseen and neglected within our immediate community. As neighbors, we are working together to provide financial, material and volunteer service help to people who live north of Montgomery, west of Division, South of Hawthorne Road and in the Nine Mile Falls zip code area in Spokane County.
17 churches including Spokane Friends have combined to make a difference in the lives of God's Children, our neighbors.
Also, we are looking for a special volunteer with interpersonal skills to interpret the work of Caritas to our community. 17 years of ministry has seen substantial turnover in leadership in Northwest Spokane churches and many don’t have the knowledge needed to appreciate and engage in what Caritas does. If interested, contact Kaye at 326-2249.
